Save Darfur

Good News!

Two weeks ago we asked for your urgent help to ask Senator Dodd to make sure an important bill finally got a vote on the Senate floor.

He listened.

Late last week, Senator Dodd announced he was seeking an accelerated vote on the Sudan Divestment Authorization Act, a bill that would help end the crisis in Darfur by empowering states to divest their pension funds from companies that help fund the genocide. The legislation had been held up for more than two months, until nearly 50,000 activists like you took the time to email Senator Dodd to ask him to speed up the process!

Will you join us in thanking Senator Dodd for helping to move the bill forward? Click here now to send your thank you note to Senator Dodd.

CNN and YouTube are giving Americans an exciting opportunity to ask their own questions of the 2008 Democratic presidential hopefuls in the upcoming July 23rd debate.

As you know, the next president will play a crucial role in bringing peace to Darfur. We need a president who has the vision and the drive not just to save Darfur – but to ensure that “Never Again” becomes a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy.

Will you help make sure that the Darfur crisis is one of the questions the candidates debate on the 23rd?

All you have to do is create your own video question asking the candidates what they would do to end the crisis in Darfur.

For instructions on how to get started on your video, visit SaveDarfur.org

The deadline for entering your video is Sunday, July 22nd, but the earlier you submit your question, the better the chances are that CNN will select it to read at the debate.
