Miami, Florida — For the second time this year, ChakraSamvara Center and its partners: Miami Dade Co. Asian Advisory Board, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Wat Buddharangsi (Thai Temple) will welcome the Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Gomang Monastery to create the auspicious Sand Mandala at four important sites in South Florida. The event is open to the public daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Avalokiteshvara Buddha Compassion Mandala
Monday June 18 to Thursday June 21, 2007 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Phone: (954) 357-7349

A Tibetan sand painting, the Sand Mandala is an ancient art form of Tibetan Buddhism. “Mandala” is a Sanskrit word meaning cosmogram or “world in harmony.” The sand mandala will be carefully constructed from dyed marblesand particles, and will be used as a vehicle to generate Perserverance/Enlightenment. Some mandalas that will be created are: the Shakyamuni Buddha Mandala, in honor of Buddha’s birthday; The Medicine Buddha Mandala, to heal the mind and body and promote the well-being of all sentient beings; Amitabha/Amatyus Buddha Mandala, to purify attachment and generate longevity; Avalokiteshvara Buddha Mandala, to generate compassion. All Mandalas generate the precious reality of impermanence of all phenomena, and create a social/cosmic healing ofthe environment through a drawing of the world in its divine form. In essence, the mandala is a map by which the ordinary human mind can be transformed into the enlightened mind by thousands and thousands of “grains of sand”.

All sites will have an opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on the first day of that site. Geshe Lharampa Lobzang Samdup, Tour Leader, and the tour monks will chant powerful prayers for peace, prosperity and healing in traditional multiphonic overtone. The chant master will intone a full chord of three notes. This chanting will be accompanied by delicate hand gestures, cymbals, drums, horns, and flutes — sacred and priceless instruments from their Monastery in India. The closing ceremony will take place at 5:00 p.m.of the last day for that site. The Mandala will be dismantled by sweeping up the colored sands to symbolize the impermanence of all that exists. Half of the dismantled sand will be distributed to the audience as a blessing for personal health and healing, while the other half will be dispersed in the body of water nearby as a blessing for the universal aquatic beings.

The Monks of Drepung Gomang are presently on tour in the United States to share the compassion and wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism, to demonstrate the sacred artistic accomplishments of the people of Tibet, and to generate funds to insure the survival of their culture. Drepung Gomang Monastery will use donations to house, feed, and educate everyone wishing to study at this monastic center of higher learnining — including orphans and refugees fleeing from Tibet. The monastery also will establish a Food Foundation Fund which will help the monastery to provide a continuous food supply to the student monks in years to come.

This October, organizations across the country will be advocating for farmed animals in full force in honor of World Farm Animals Day (WFAD) on October 2. WFAD honors the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and encourages people to reflect upon the suffering and deaths of billions of animals in animal factories and slaughterhouses.

PETA and Farm Animal Reform Movement (FARM) are working together to promote PETA’s “Kentucky Fried Cruelty” campaign. By protesting KFC, we give voice to the more than 850 million chickens raised and killed for KFC, encourage people to boycott a company that refuses to make any animal welfare improvements, and offer information about making the compassionate switch to a vegetarian diet.

PETA and FARM are compiling an events calendar of all the actions taken worldwide in honor of WFAD. Every protest, leafleting, information table, walk, or memorial service held in October will be recorded. Please join us in taking action as part of the KFC campaign, and help us make this WFAD the best ever!

If you are curious to see what other people are doing in your area for WFAD, please see the events list.

Hello dear friends, Welcome back!

We’ve been away long enough, keeping busy gathering newness and readying it up to share it with you.
After beginning the Beacons of Light last year, we armed ourselves with pen, paper, tolerance and love and journeyed through the local territory looking for those who Think globally and Act locally. We are very excited and, through this virtual space, want to share the newly attained wisdom with a wide range of topics and fresh ideas. So, let us bring you up to speed with what’s new with Think.Act.

THINK GLOBALLY. ACT LOCALLY. PROMOTE UNITY.
We are passing thru our lives experiencing the natural chemistry that we have evolved into. Meeting new people helps in the growth of our being, we grow individually and collectively.
We stepped into the community looking for kindness, good-will and friendliness. We looked for the good samaritan, the humanitarian and the kind helper. We met many wonderful souls who we Thank Spirit for having placed them in our path, and we thank them for having shared their hearts and insights with us.
We are all aware of the ‘madness’ taking place on the surface of our planet, this is why we promote Love and Peace on Earth, and encourage you to do too, to raise more and more energy of love, and friendliness. One way to do this is by noticing the Love and Kindness being spread already. There is a lot of love out there, we have to look “outside the frame” to see it, pause time-space and observe the eternal now, you will see the Divine work being done. In fact, that is exactly what we did at Think Act, we searched for tolerance, compassion and respect in the hearts and faces of those who we walk the ground with. We explored the local field looking for people who work hard at keeping drugs off the streets and keep children off drugs, away from crime and in a safe environment. We want to find the local artists who illustrates Tolerance and sculpts Grace, and the teacher who encourages the students to smile and guides them to exercise Respect. We want to find neighbors that come together by a common feeling of Love for humanity and the planet. We are one family, lets treat each other like such. Let’s Love the world around us, Respect the world we live in, and Smile as we live joyfully together, as family. Today, now, tomorrow and everyday.

WHAT WE FOUND…
Going out to the community we researched the areas of self-development. There are many practices, disciplines, techniques, etc. to adopt for a satisfactory journey thru the road to self improvement and spiritual development. We learned more about the many options the Universe offers us each and every day. All our lives, we have unlimited times to choose if we aren’t satisfied with a current situation -as long as we harm none of course; then, why not embark on a journey that will fulfill our hearts, mind and spirit of Divine Light and Love.

THE COMMUNITY
Some of the local places we like to frequent are listed below. We encourage everyone to do the same and look into your own community to see what great things are being done for humanity, the Animal Kingdom and the Planet Earth.

Unity of Hollywood
Is one of the local churches we often attend. They offer a number of services and have a wide volunteer program where the community can sign up and be a part of.
Reverend Frank is the new Minister at this Sanctuary, and every week he inspires the public to do wonderful things for the community and for each other. As the metaphysician that he is, he enlightens us weekly with messages the scriptures offer and shares his visions of Love and Light.

The Goddess Store & Studio
A local store dedicated to femininity and to the connection with the Goddess within. The store has a very wide variety of items, sacred garbs, tools and statutes to meet your ritual needs. The studio offers a wide range of dance forms, development workshops and expressive art. This establishment is a perfect example of Think globally. Act locally.

Crystal Vision
Is a metaphysical store with a vast variety of magical tools and supplies, such as crystals, incense, and basically whatever one might need for ritual work, healing, etc. They also hold classes and offer services to further the develop the Spirit in you.

Center for Human Development
Is exactly that. The visitors of the center should expect a magical experience the moment they step foot in this place. Their meditation garden is the perfect place for a moment of peace and quiet and the display and decoration on the inside is simply breathtaking. There are healing rooms, a pyramid room and a Chakra room. They also have a large room where they hold weekly gatherings for the discussion of spiritual and metaphysical topics, followed by group meditation. They also offer improvement classes for the holistic healer and metaphysician.

Drolma Center
This is a Buddhist Center where -aside from offering World Meditations- just as Think Act does, they also hold offer gatherings with special buddhist guests, White Tara empowerment, puja, etc. It is a very active center, and we strongly recommend anyone who lives in the South Florida area to visit this place, as well as the others mentioned above.

______________ ______________

What else is new with ThinkActUnity?

THINK.ACT’S DAY TO CELEBRATE LIFE! – Beacons of Light 2006
There are many groups that offer meditation for the world, and Think.Act is one of them. Last year we began this journey by gathering people around the world to meditate and send Light Divine. It has been over a year that TAU practices a beacon of light meditation.
Thanks to the wonderful advances in technology we are able to stay connected worldwide and by utilizing this magnificent tool we get to you, you, and you! It is our dream to bring all brothers and sisters together to raise awareness and beautiful energy, loving energy, of kindness and peace. Of course, we think globally and act locally, therefore we also rely on the good ol’ fashion way to reach out… and that is by flyers and handout distribution and of course, the oh very powerful word-of-mouth. Every little bit helps, and every bit of work and time dedicated to this project is always well invested and infinitely rewarding. The time is now. We are here. Release all doubt and fear, and turn your head to notice the person standing next to you and smile. It is time to embrace the world as it is, as it was created, and as its been reformed by us, its inhabitants. We are a creation of Love, It’s a part of us and we a part of It, it’s time to spread the Love innate to the world and create the magical place we all dream of.

We realize that ThinkAct’s Beacons of Light use to be held during the Full Moon (FM), however, due to the high volume of groups that already hold a world meditation during this time we decided to change it to the New Moon (NM). This phase of the moon brings newness and all things related to new beginnings, new projects and starting over. What better way to start over other than in celebration?! The NM begins young, innocent, fresh, it is new, not yet visible. It is quiet, soft, harmonious. It invites happiness, for it calls for the celebration of a new cycle.
Think. Act. Unity. observes every NM as Celebrate Life Day. We invite you to gather with us in celebration, bring family and friends together to toast and feast for life and for being happy to be alive! Any time is good for celebration, especially when there is low-frequency energy roaming the surface of our planet. Every New Moon make your favorite organic and planet friendly dishes, have everyone bring healthy snacks and beverages to share (..please don’t forget to have trash bins to keep the area clean), get a few bottles of your favorite wine or ale and natural juices for the children, and unite with us in joyful celebration. Bring everyone together to celebrate Worldly Love, and Peace on Earth. Indulge in a talk about Peace and all that is beautiful and Divine, be the voice that talks about this worldly love and friendliness. Have a picnic at the park, or at the beach, any place that inspires peace and is blessed with the presence of Nature is a good place to get together. Invite the community to be a voice and express their insights. In this way we are raising energy together, we are uniting our vibrations together and tuning to the same frequency, that of Absolute Love. Enjoy your day celebrating Life and raising Light energy, and conclude the peaceful festivity by forming a Beacon of Light to send healing energy of Peace and Love to the world. Make it an event to remember. Celebration and togetherness brings bliss to the soul

The next NM Celebrate Life Day will be Sunday June 25, 2006.
